News Work Starts Housing Development Swynnerton

Work is underway on a Stafford and Rural Homes’ (SARH) housing development on a rural exception site in Swynnerton.

Working alongside its development partner, Housing Plus and the Parish Council, SARH will bring forward the Park View scheme – a mix of 19 apartments and bungalows for rent, shared ownership and market sale predominantly for older people – on the site of a former primary school.

The scheme, which aims to encourage downsizing to release family housing within the parish, has been supported with £240,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency and is part of SARH’s larger development and strategic investment plan which will see 300 new homes built by 2018 at a cost of £32 million.

Seddon Construction Ltd has been appointed as the building contractor for the scheme which is expected to be completed by spring 2015.

Senior representatives from SARH, Seddon Construction Ltd, Swynnerton Parish Council and Lord Stafford officially launched construction work.
