National construction equipment hire company Keyway is celebrating a 40% increase in turnover this year to £25 million.
The company’s move to a new two acre site on St Albans Road in Gloucester a year ago is clearly paying dividends and with profits being continually reinvested, it is set for even more growth.
Keyway have invested a multi-million pound figure into the purchase of new state-of-the-art eight wheel Scania tipper lorries to add to their growing fleet, enabling further expansion throughout the country.
Keyway is part of the McGurk Group that has an estimated combined turnover of £50 million.
Eamonn McGurk, managing director at Keyway said: “I’m from a mechanical background and firmly believe that if we have the best quality equipment, it will be efficient and need little in the way of repairs.
“Add to this the highest quality staff and it means that we have optimised our time and can focus it all on our customer’s needs.
“The key to our success this year is the continued expansion of the business. We are always on the lookout for new services we can bring to our customers.”
Recent acquisitions have included Bristol’s largest haulage and earthworks contractor and a quarried and recycled aggregate supplier.
McGurk added: “We now employ over 200 staff across the South West including apprenticeships for young people. Our apprentices gain valuable experience in the working environment and we will be taking on more this year.
“We are currently looking for HGV and excavator drivers, as well as sales and management personnel to help us build on our achievements.
