The national chair of one of the UK’s longest standing trade bodies is urging the Government to give clear leadership so that “we can get back to focusing on building the homes and developing the homegrown talent our country needs.”
Following Andrea Leadsom’s decision to withdraw from the Conservative leadership contest, Theresa May will succeed David Cameron as the UK’s Prime Minister and Simon Girling, national chair of the National Federation of Builders (NFB), is calling on the Government to end the uncertainty.
The NFB represents small to medium-sized builders, contractors and house builders across England and Wales, and Girling believes: “The sooner we have some semblance of stability the better. That way we can get back to focusing on building the homes our country needs, developing home-grown talent, and doing this while securing the best value for taxpayers’ money.
“Certainty will also come from clear leadership from the Government, as well as an effective opposition.”
