Wales and South West based construction and civil engineering contractor, ERH Group, has reported a rise in turnover to £42m – which is an increase of more than 50% compared to the previous year.
The group’s profit before tax rose sharply to £1m, following a re-organisation of the Group’s activities in a drive for greater efficiency.
The performance reflects the group’s decision in 2009 to focus on core sectors and align the business with key frameworks that have helped ERH Group contest tenders for many of the larger infrastructure projects across the South West.
However Jones also said that it had been a tough few years for the sector and that matching the 65% growth seen in 2012 would still be a challenge for the engineering contractor.
ERH is currently in the process of delivering the £12m+ Chippenham Care Village Scheme, and has recently completed multi-million pound care homes in Nailsea and Bath – which follows on from the group’s works to widen the M5.
