Kent-based contractor Denne has finished work on a £9.5m residential development in Brighton.
The Edge, a 12,600 sq ft development by Southern Home Ownership, the non-charitable arm of Southern Housing Group, includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and a community centre.
Some 55 of the apartments are shared ownership, while 40 are affordable rented.
The development, designed by Miller Bourne architects, is intended to set a benchmark for all future Southern Home Ownership developments, with private balconies and terraces as well as communal areas.
Denne was chosen because of its reputation in building robust energy-efficient homes.
Sandy Macmillan, head of sales and marketing at Southern Home Ownership, said: “As property prices reach an all time high, it is imperative that there are affordable housing options for Britons to break into the property market. We will be reinvesting the profits from The Edge back into Southern Home Ownership to ensure there continues to be cost-effective homes that allow long-term renters to put don permanent roots.”
