News Bam Work Met London Hq

BAM Construction has been appointed by the Metropolitan Police to work on its new headquarters building by the Thames in central London.

Jane Bond, director of property services at the Metropolitan Police, confirmed that the company will be providing “pre-construction services for the development of the scheme design and construction contract as part of a two-stage process for the refurbishment works at the new Metropolitan Police headquarters, Scotland Yard”.

These scheme, designed by architects AHMM, is intended to provide a more modern and efficient police estate for London.

Mike Donegan, construction director for BAM Construction in London, said: “This is an historic building, and an important client. We know how good AHMM are from our work on the Angel Building, and, as the recent remodelling of Africa House shows, we have the pedigree and expertise to deliver complex and sensitive central London structures.”
