Anchor is planning to develop three care villages, representing a total investment of £95m.
The proposals for Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, and Bishopstoke and Yateley, both in Hampshire, will create more than 300 jobs.
Each development comprises a care home and retirement housing with care and support available on site. They include facilities such a restaurant, gym, shop and swimming pool.
The Hampshire sites are being developed with English Care Village Partnerships, specialists in the design, delivery and operation of care villages.
Nigel Hackett, Anchor’s head of building development, said: “Anchor aims to provide older people with excellent care and great places to live. The planned care villages will enable us to meet both those objectives for the growing number of older people in and around these three communities.
“We will be looking to develop more care villages over the next couple of years and are actively looking for suitable locations. We are aiming to build 1,000 properties for older people by 2015.”
Construction is also well advanced at Anchor’s new flagship £30m 117-bed care home at West Hall, West Byfleet, Surrey and work is due to start in June on a 60-room care home at Moor Place, Esher, Surrey.
