Eleven construction companies, including one consortium, have been selected for Devon County Council’s new £500m framework.The Construction Framework South West (CFSW), due to go live on the 1 August, has been developed by Devon County Council to deliver construction projects in excess of £1m. It is expected that it will potentially turnover approximately £500m over the next four years.
Over 20 public bodies, comprising of local authorities, emergency services, further education colleges and universities have expressed interest in using the framework for future construction projects. It will be used for the first time in August for an Exeter Primary School.
The eleven organisations are:

Builders Consortium South West, which is a consortium made up of ER Hemmings (Building) Ltd, Pearce Construction (Barnstaple) Ltd, RJ Leighfield Son Ltd, and CS Williams (Taunton) Ltd.
Interserve Project services Ltd
ISG Pearce Ltd
Kier Regional Ltd
Mansell Construction Services Ltd
Midas Construction Ltd
Morgan Ashurst PLC
ROK Building Ltd
Wates Construction Ltd
The eleven were selected from an original group of over 40 applicants from which 25 were invited to tender.
Councillor John Clatworthy, Devon County Council’s cabinet member for finance and property said:
“This framework will bring a range of benefits to the organisations it serves.
“A similar construction framework in the south east for example has resulted in cost savings for its member authorities, reductions in contract times, and improved quality of work.”
