The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) has launched the Faculty of Building Control and Standards.
The CIOB said the faculty will offer existing workers networking opportunities in addition to a structured training scheme. Kevin Dawson, the CIOB’s faculty chair said: “The intention is to raise the professional profile of building control professionals, and to assist individuals who are currently working within all sectors of Building Control to gain additional recognised professional qualifications. The Faculty offers a structured training programme to those new to the building control sector as well as networking opportunities, and will promote building control as an excellent career path.”
Paul Timmins, chairman of the Association of Consultant Approved Inspectors (ACAI) which represents the interests of private sector building control professionals added: "The ACAI believes passionately in the need to promote building control as an exciting career to anyone with an interest in supporting the construction industry to meet ever-changing and complex building standards - we are problem solvers in this regard. |
