Planning bid for Dumfries hospital

Dumfries and Galloway NHS has applied for planning consent for a £120m scheme at Dumfries Infirmary.

Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary was built in the 1970s. The region's health board now hopes to completely redesign and refurbish the building.

Last year it selected a business partner to take the project forward. It described the redevelopment as "far bigger and more technically challenging" than constructing the original hospital.
