More than 1,340 new council homes are to be built this year in Scotland backed by £26m from the Scottish Government.
Housing and Communities Minister Alex Neil unveiled the latest £9m tranche of funding following the £17m announced in April. Seventeen local authorities across Scotland will share the money to build the homes. The government said it is the largest council house building programme for 30 years and is expected to support 3,000 jobs. |
