Morrison Construction makes new appointment

Mike Bruce has been appointed operations director for Morrison Construction’s North East Scotland business.

40-year old Mike Bruce joined Morrison Construction, part of Galliford Try group, in 1986 as a trainee and has progressed through the business. For the last five years, he was procurement, design and construct manager responsible for developing Morrison’s construction business in North East Scotland.

David Downie, managing director of Morrison Construction Scotland said: “Mike has a wealth of experience in the construction sector stretching back over 20 years. He was responsible for the delivery of some of our notable projects, Chevron’s new European Headquarters at Rubislaw and Weatherford Centre, Altens.

“Mike has a central role in developing Morrison Construction’s construction business in the North East and is ideally placed to lead the business forward in its next phase of development.  I have no doubt that Morrison Construction and its employees will continue to flourish under Mike’s leadership.”

Morrison Construction is presently involved in the delivery of many major building projects throughout the North East:
·£32m construction contract for St Andrews Hospital and Health Centre,
·£10m design and construction of six modern office buildings, near Newmacher,
·Framework contract for the refurbishment and alteration of four secondary schools for Perth & Kinross Council,
·£4.5m design and construction of a headquarters building, Bridge of Don,
·£3.6m design and construction of a commercial facility for Hydro Group, Bridge of Don,
·Several dental surgeries for NHS Grampian.
