CitizenM, the Dutch hotel group has chosen Glasgow for the site of its first hi-tech hotel outside Holland.
The £100m hotel will be on a site next to the Theatre Royal. Not all of the 180-room hotel will be built in Glasgow. The bespoke rooms will be created in a Dutch factory and shipped over to Scotland, where they will be slotted into place. The 275,000 sq ft Glasgow scheme will begin a rollout of the hotels across 20 cities, including London, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Prague, Paris, Madrid, Milan and Moscow. |
