Work starts on Hengrove Park regeneration E-mail
Thursday, 04 September 2008

The multi-million pound regeneration scheme at Hengrove Park in Bristol has begun.

The first phase of the project, which will include a community hospital, a skills academy and a new leisure centre, will bring around 2,000 jobs into the area.

The scheme will also provide a new national headquarters for Computershare, one of South Bristol's largest employers.

Computershare are likely to make a planning application in autumn and aim to begin construction in 2009.

Work on the skills academy could start in the autumn and construction on the hospital could begin early next year.

Developers are waiting on planning permission to start work on the Healthplex next spring.
