A £30m regeneration and redevelopment programme is planned including offices, a data centre, and a hotel. The site was originally used by Colgate for toothpaste production.

It is one of the largest sites available in Media City, an area of Salford Quays into which the BBC has announced its is to relocate thousands of staff
