The majority of people who attended the recent public exhibition of the planned leisure development in Bournemouth Town Centre, have responded positively to the plans. The Pavilion Gardens project from developer Trevor Osborne features cutting-edge rooftop gardens with sea views, an outside performance space, restaurants, a casino and a distinctive glass interval court. In addition to the £46m construction, the Trevor Osborne Group is planning to inject at least £13m into the restoration of Bournemouth Pavilion. Plans are being progressed with Dance South West to turn the restored Pavilion into a regional and national centre for dance.
Nigel Hedges, vice president of Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said: "The Chamber Executive unanimously expresses its support for the Trevor Osborne project for the Pavilion and Pavilion Gardens.
Written comments from the public following the exhibition describe the new development as: "imaginative and exciting", "a landmark, "architecture that enhances the environment significantly" and "a wonderful addition to a prime spot in Bournemouth." Trevor Osborne is reading the feedback and considering amendments before submitting the final plans to Bournemouth Borough Council's Planning Board in March.
CZWG Architects, whose recent projects include the regeneration of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and the National Portrait Gallery, drew up the plans. |
