The Olympic Delivery Authority this month invited bidders for the Olympic Park utilities contract.
The organisation is looking for either a main contractor or a range of companies to design, construct, own and operate utilities for the East London site. Companies who can deliver these services can attend an industry open day on 28 September with a shortlist being drawn up in October. Meanwhile, UCATT has welcomed the ODA’s decision to award the Olympic construction contract to the Laing O’Rourke-led CLM consortium, which also includes CH2M, Hill International and Mace. Alan Ritchie, UCATT General Secretary said: “This is good news for the British construction industry. Laing O’Rourke, a key partner in the consortium, has a track record of delivering major projects on time and on a budget with a good health and safety record.” |
