Tuesday, 23 January 2007
The Olympic Delivery Authority ODA today launched its Sustainable Development Strategy. The authority claims it will make London 2012 the “Greenest Games in modern times.”

The ODA said it will target low carbon technologies, low waste, green transportation and high re-use of materials during construction. The  strategy said it will use timber from sustainable sources with all timber used from known, legal sources, with clear supply chain evidence.

The ODA will identify, source, and use environmentally and socially responsible materials and at least 20% of materials used in permanent venues and the Olympic Village will have previously been used somewhere else, or be a recycled product.
