The main stadium for the London Olympics in 2012 is now expected to cost £525m. A review of London's preparations for the 2012 Games found the figure for the 80,000-seat stadium had jumped £29m since November. New London Mayor Boris Johnson ordered the review as concern rises about the Game's soaring budget. There has been an overall £106m increase in all venue costs. The figures form part of entrepreneur David Ross' high-level review of London's preparations for the Games. The stadium was originally priced at £280m. |
