The Handball Arena will host the Preliminaries and Quarter-Finals of the Handball competition, as well as Modern Pentathlon disciplines during the Olympic Games. During the Paralympic Games it will host Goalball.

After the Games the Arena will become a multi-sports venue with the flexible seating capacity and facilities necessary to hold a wide range of indoor sports for the community. It will also be able to host local and international competitions and events.

Jules Pipe, elected Mayor of Hackney, said: ‘This new multi-sports arena is a major opportunity to develop a world-class facility for Hackney residents as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Games.’
