| London 2012 bridges shortlist announced |

The companies shortlisted to deliver two packages of structures and bridges for the Olympic Park have been announced. The first package is to build three footbridges in the north of the Park across the River Lea to provide access from east to west. The footbridges will be permanent with temporary sections added for use during the Games to accommodate the large number of spectators. The shortlisted teams are:
The second is to build the central pedestrian concourse in the Park. It will span approximately 30m over the River Lea between the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre. During the Games there will be one large bridge; after the Games the central section will be taken away to leave two smaller footbridges. The shortlisted teams are:
