The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), the body charged with building the key venues for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, will set up a 24-hour construction hotline for the surrounding community.
The hotline will be one of a number of commitments that the ODA will impose, in a bid to reduce the impact of construction activity on the surrounding area. A ban on cars in the Olympic Park is also another commitment outlined. The ODA have asked workers to the site to travel by public transport or foot in order to ease congestion on the area. The commitments were made at the first meeting for the Olympic Park Engagement Network- a new group that will bring together representatives from different parts of the community to meet with senior members of the ODA team.
