Carillion and Balfour Beatty have won a £363m contract by Transport for London to build a new East London rail line between Dalston Junction and West Croydon.

Plans to extend the Nottingham tram moved a step closer today when Transport Secretary Douglas Alexander gave programme entry approval to the scheme and announced that Government will contribute £437m.

has been awarded a £23m, six-year contract by Network Rail to weld up to 100,000 tonnes of new rail each year. The company is building a new centre alongside its existing Scunthorpe site to carry out the welding.
