Mersey Gateway green light |

A detailed planning application for the Mersey Gateway Project, the new crossing over the River Mersey, has been approved by Halton Borough Council.
The scheme will link Runcorn and Widnes on opposite banks of the River Mersey and is expected to cost £400 million. It will be funded by the introduction of a bridge toll.
The planning application also outline the numerous road layout changes that would be needed in the area. The scheme is expected to go to a public inquiry. |
