Duo wins £363m East London line E-mail

Carillion and Balfour Beatty have won a £363m contract by Transport for London to build a new East London rail line between Dalston Junction and West Croydon.

The contract will involve railways works including track, signalling and telecommunications,and major civil engineering works including the construction of two large new bridges, new stations and a new depot at New Cross Gate.
Construction works will begin in early 2007 with the project scheduled for completion in 2010.
The project will play a major role in transporting people to and from the 2012 Olympic Games.
