Amec takes UAE contract E-mail

Amec has been awarded a five-year contract in the United Arab Emirates worth an estimated £42m.

The contract has been awarded the contract by Zakum Development Company in Abu Dhabi.

Amec will provide engineering, consultancy and project management services on a multi-billion dollar oil field development 84km offshore in the Gulf.

Among the projects in which the company will be involved are the replacement of a 60km subsea pipeline, expansion of gas treatment facilities and a programme to increase offshore crude production capacity from 500,000 to 750,000 barrels a day.
