A 46-year-old man has died in an industrial accident at the construction site of one of Scotland's biggest hydro-electric schemes.

The incident happened at the £136m Glendoe hydro power station near Fort Augustus in the Highlands at about 8am.

A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Energy said the man was working for contractor Hochtief on the construction of the dam.

The project at Glendoe is the biggest hydro electric scheme to be built in Scotland in 50 years.
