The incident happened on 18 January at 6.30pm in Jedburgh Street on the refurbishment of a row of terrace houses. B&J Scaffolding was the subcontractor for Teesside firm SGW Construction on the project, which was contracted by Middlesbrough Council. SGW Construction declined to comment. A spokesman for the council told B&E online: “It was extremely windy and I gather that’s what brought it down. One man suffered minor injuries and a number of cars were also damaged.” the injured man has been identified as a local resident. The Council added that the contractor would be dealing with all claims for damages resulting from the incident. The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation into the incident. |
