Skanska Rashleigh Weatherfoil Ltd has been ordered to pay more than £100,000 for breaching health and safety legislation. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) prosecuted the company at Aylesbury Crown Court last week. This follows an investigation by the HSE into an incident that occurred in December 2005, in which John Davies, David Powell and Noah Eastwood suffered electrical flash burns.
It was found that site personnel were not experienced in working on, or close to, live exposed equipment. Personal tools were used on site but were un-insulated, as the men concerned had no requirement for them in their normal line of work.
