Costain grilled under Health and Safety mock up E-mail
Friday, 20 April 2007
An event held next week aims to show the construction industry what can happen when health and safety standards slip.

Huw Llyweln from Costain will play the role of a director who is questioned on a fictitious workplace accident. The interview under caution will be held before a group of spectators from the construction industry.

Morgan Cole Solicitors will be leading the event, which has been organised by the South Wales Working Well Together Group.

HSE Inspector for Construction, Wayne Williams said: "Construction still has a high rate of death and serious injuries compared to many others. The hazards can range from slips and trips and working at height to workplace transport. Safety of workers and members of the public who may be affected by the work must take priority, and this exercise is a timely reminder of what the process can entail if it doesn't."

HSE representatives along with the Working Well Together partners, will be on hand during the event to provide advice and answer questions about safety matters in the construction industry.

The event will be held at Pentwyn Leisure Centre, Cardiff on 24th April. Anyone wishing to attend should email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
