HSE launches crackdown on dangerous construction sites

Health and Safety Executive (HSE) inspectors are to launch an intensive inspection initiative aimed at stopping dangerous practices on building sites across Great Britain.

Carillion subsidiary Carillion JM Ltd has been fined £185,000 following an accident at the Kingsway Business Park in Rochdale in 2008 when a Ford Transit truck hit construction worker Michael Gresty.

Laing O' Rourke fined for Heathrow death

Laing O'Rourke and SGB have been fined a total of £105,000 after one man died and another was injured when a concrete slab collapsed at Heathrow Airport's T5 in 2005.
