Repairs to the dam wall at Ulley Reservoir, in Rotherham, have now been completed. Water levels are receding, however the pumping out of water is still continuing. The situation is being continually monitored. Engineers from Yorkshire Water and fire crews have been working for the past three days on stoping the reservoir from bursting its banks and flooding the suurounding villages. Some 500 tonnes of hard core have been laid to support the existing wall structure, with 500 tonnes to be added later this week. |
