Workers carrying out maintenance work to NHS buildings have turned down a three year pay offer. The offer worth 7.4% was rejected by 83.8% of UCATT members who mainly carry out maintenance work on NHS buildings. UCATT has now said it will seek a meeting with other NHS unions, in order to work together to secure a better pay package for NHS workers. Alan Ritchie, general secretary of UCATT, said: “Public sector workers in general and NHS workers in particular have had to endure years of below inflation pay deals. It is quite clear that these workers believe that enough is enough." "The public value the work of NHS workers, it is now time that the Government acknowledges their financial worth.” |
