The deal, part of a court approved bankruptcy transaction, will see Trion join Tomkins' Air Systems Components group.

In 2007, the business posted sales of $31.8m and had gross assets of $39.7m.

"This acquisition will enhance Air Systems Components' product offering in the important green building and energy efficiency space," said Tomkins boss James Nicol.
