| Three fight for £100m NHS Tayside scheme |

NHS Tayside has announced the three short-listed bidders for the £100m Mental Health Developments Project to provide inpatient accommodation at Murray Royal Hospital in Perth and Stracathro Hospital in Angus. The three companies short-listed are: Canmore (as Tayside Mental Health); Laing O’Rourke and the Robertson Group (as Taycare). The project will improve and develop mental health services across Tayside by modernising inpatient facilities. These services include regional medium secure care for the North of Scotland, low secure care for NHS Tayside, General Adult Psychiatry and Psychiatry of Old Age. The successful bidder will start construction of the new facilities at Murray Royal Hospital, Perth, and Stracathro Hospital, Angus, in autumn 2009.
