Tuesday, 13 March 2007

Specialist construction products supplier Heywood Williams today recorded a 6.2% profit after it exited the extrusion industry and bought Carlisle Brass.

Operating profit increased to £10.3m in the year ending 31 December 2006, up from £9.7m the previous year.

Turnover, however, fell from £262.7m to £256.2m.

The company said it has successfully integrated its recent acquisition, Carlisle Brass, which is outperforming expectations.

Heywood focussed on becoming a specialist distributor after it exited its underperforming uPVC extrusion business.
