Cambridgeshire will get £52.7m and Northamptonshire will recieve £88.6m which will allow the two councils to secure private sector partners in a joint project to upgrade 98,000 streetlights over the next 25 years and install almost 14,000 new lighting columns.

Once partners have been appointed it is thought that Work will begin in late 2009/ early 2010.
