One of the largest development schemes in Cumbria has been halted after the main funder withdrew support.
The £80m New Squares scheme in Penrith has been hit after National Australia Bank decided to withdraw. The scheme was to have created four new town squares, a 60,000 sq ft Sainsbury's supermarket and a new football ground for Penrith FC. The developer is Lowther Manelli, the contractors Bowmer & Kirkland. |
