Carillion today announced a profit hike of nearly 28% in its first half underlying profit.

Talks are to take place this afternoon between RMT, Metronet, the company’s administrator and Transport for London to try and break the deadlock over the fallout from the collapse of Metronet and end the three day strike which began yesterday.

Carillion has completed track renewal work on Manchester Metrolink’s Altrincham Line, for clients Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE).
