A row has broken out between Oxfordshire County Council and developer Parkridge that could threaten plans for an eco town at Weston Otmoor.
According to reports Oxfordshire County Council has refused to do any more work on the eco town proposal until developer Parkridge pays a bill that the council claims comes to more than £100,000. It says Parkridge had promised to pay for detailed work on the transport implications of plans to build 15,000 homes near Weston-on-the-Green. However, according to the county council, it has gone back on that promise, meaning money that could have been spent on projects to improve roads and public transport in the county could be lost. The county council also criticised the dependency of Parkridge's plans on new rail and tram links to the proposed eco-town. |
