| OFT investigation hits framework list |

The OFT investigation into the construction industry has led Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council to temporarily suspend plans for a new framework agreement under which four building companies would share all of its contracts. It comes after one of the four, G&J Seddon, became one of 112 construction companies said by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to be under investigation for alleged price fixing. Council officers are now recommending that councillors do not proceed with awarding of the framework contracts until more is known about the OFT investigation.       |
