OFT bid rigging: Fish leaves hot water E-mail
Monday, 21 April 2008
A contractor alleged to have been involved in bid rigging activities went into administration today.

Nottingham based Thomas Fish is one of 112 companies last week alleged of bid rigging by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

The named companies, which also include Balfour Beatty, Carillion, Willmott Dixon and Kier all appeared on the OFT’s Statement of Objections which has uncovered evidence of cover pricing into public and private sector contractors worth up to £3bn.

Mazars has been appointed administrator.

A company statement said: “The joint administrators are currently assessing the business and revealing the options available going forward. The joint administrators will be contacting all the creditors in the near future to confirm the appointment and put forward their proposals.”

It is unknown whether the OFT’s investigation had anything to do with the company entering administration.
