MacGregor, who founded Hamilton-based MacGregor Flooring in 1985 following a management buyout, has been active in the flooring industry for many years and is a Past President of the Contract Flooring Association (CFA).

He succeeds Simon Bottomley of Balsham Buildings Ltd, a member of the Rural and Industrial Design and Building Association (RIDBA), who has led NSCC since November 2006.
