Global sports brand Nike is planning to open six new standalone stores in the UK by the end of the year, with another five planned for the first half of 2009.
The company made the announcement as it launched its first standalone store outside London at Grosvenor's Liverpool One scheme. Its Merseyside store is the first of a wave of wholly owned, new-format stores intended to dramatically increase the brands retail presence outside London. Nike has traditionally operated stores through franchise partners in addition to supplying multiple retailers. |
