| Mersey gateway designs imminant |

Detailed designs of the proposed £390m Mersey Gateway bridge will be revealed this week. The final design of the new bridge and results of traffic and environmental surveys are expected to be announced. The bridge is expected to be a toll road. Planning applications for the new six-lane bridge were submitted at the end of March. A formal response to the plans is expected later this year with work expected to start in 2011. |
