Masterplan for Prestwick Airport E-mail

Prestwick Airport, Glasgow has published its 25 year masterplan

Under the plan the airport says passenger numbers will double to 5.7m  in the next decade.

It has also predicted major growth in freight traffic and the need for extensions to the main terminal and the car park.

The document also calls for major infrastructure improvements to the railway station serving the airport and to the runway. It also sees the need for major road improvements in an around the airport.

The masterplan is now subject to an eight-week consultation period.
