The University of Manchester's flagship building, University Place, based at the very heart of the campus on Oxford Road, has opened its doors.
The £65m building with a distinctive rotunda is the largest purpose-built lecture theatre in Manchester. The 1000 seat semi-circular auditorium divides into two theatres offering maximum flexibility to organisers. In addition, the eight-storey venue houses 23 flat-floored seminar rooms (accommodating up to 160 delegates), an exhibition area and a spacious 400-seat restaurant. A further 6 lecture theatres (for up to 474 delegates) are available in adjacent buildings. There is also ample semi-permanent marquee space and car parking nearby. In addition to this two Hundred en suite single bedrooms are available during the summer vacation for conference use. |
