The second phase of the £1bn Liverpool One scheme is opening today.
Grosvenor's Liverpool One scheme involves the regeneration of 17ha of the city centre, including more than 30 individually designed buildings by 26 architects in five separate districts around the streets of Liverpool. The latest nine signings include bookshop Waterstone's and a number of well-known independent and fashion retailers including Drome, Foot Asylum, Onitsuka Tiger and Leia. The signings total nearly 100,000 sq ft of space with Watestone's taking 25,901 sq ft on College Lane and Drome, the local independent fashion retailer, taking 4,940 sq ft on Paradise Street. Phase two comprises the opening of Peter’s Lane, Chavasse Park, the restaurant terrace and cinema. The finished scheme will include 160 shops totalling 130,000 sq m of retail space, a 14-screen Odeon cinema, 500 apartments and a new public transport interchange. |
