Tuesday, 12 May 2009
Work on a £160m development in Liverpool can now start after City Council planners approved two applications.

Planning has been granted for a 455 space multi-storey car park, with ground floor retail space on land between Heathfield, Back Bold Street and Renshaw Street and for modifications to the Copthorne Hotel, to provide 240 bedrooms, associated hotel facilities and ground floor retail space.

In total the Central Village scheme from developer Merepark will comprise two new hotels, an apart-hotel, retail and leisure units, cinema and offices combined with a stepped water race, timber boardwalk and public realm and will be directly linked to Central Station.

It is thought work will be complete by the end of 2011.
