Laird to sell off Security Systems E-mail
Monday, 19 March 2007
Laird Group will sell its Security Systems division in a £242.5m deal, the company said today.

The division designs and manufactures security products for the residential and home improvements markets.

Laird said it will take the step as Security Systems is out-performed by its other divisions. In the last three years, Laird Technologies’ profits have more than quadrupled, which accounted for almost two-thirds of the company’s operating profit in 2006. Security Systems grew its profits by 12% over the same period.

Laird Lupus Capital is interested in buying the division.

Revenue for the year ending 31 December was up 24% at £608.3m. Profits before tax rose by 33% to £73.3m
